DINER HISTORY & CULTURE
A true "diner" is a prefabricated structure built at an assembly site and transported to a permanent location for installation to serve prepared food. The word "diner" is a derivative of "dining car" and diner designs reflected the styling that manufacturers borrowed from railroad dining cars.
How Diners began?
The origins of the diner was open by Walter Scott, a part-time pressman in Providence, Rhode Island in 1872. Scott quit his printing work and began to sell food at night from a horse-drawn covered express wagon park outside the Providence Journal newspaper office. Throughout the history, Diners have been neghborhood restaurants which attract a cross section of America, from Factory workers to High Society and always been providing a good, inexpensive home style meals in a comfortable atmosphere. In doing so, Walter Scott unknowingly inspired the birth of what would become one of America's most recognized icons --The diner.
About TRS Diner
Originally, we were going to create a place "The Ribs Shacks" where everybody comes to enjoy tasty, juicy and variety of ribs. After hours of brainstorming and dozens of packs of cigarattes, we decided to open a "Diner", a place with more variety food, that people can enjoy American home cookin . The name of "The Ribs Shacks" already stuck, so we name our join TRS Diner, opened in March 2009 at Cilandak Town Square, Jakarta. We let you guys to guess what TRS stand for, could be "The Rock n' Roll Station", "Terasa Rumah Sendiri", "The Right Spot", etc. TRS stand for nothin' it's just a DINER, or else, it's up to you guys! Because our place is yours too, like your home to dine in.
Always Cruisin' in Good Times!
Classic American themed diner
Excellent casual dining experience accompanied by good food.
After sitting at a different diner quite some time without getting a chance to order, we decided to try TRS as we were short on time before our flight. We were greeted cheerfully and our server assured us that our large Meat Lover's Pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. It was ready in less than 15 minutes and was delicious! We were able to board our plane with time to spare. Cheerful, efficient staff. Quick and yummy food. We'll visit again :)
Good food and friendly staff with reasonable price & the one and only cafe with smoking area in the Bali airport. Very recommended! ????

If you're looking for halal food in the airport, you must try this place! They serve beef bacon instead of pork. We had amazing tuna, and ham & cheese croissant sandwiches! Do ask them to make a new one for you so it's fresh instead of pre-made and chilled. You can post your food on Instagram and tag them to get free coke or sprite! But most amazing thing is the view. It overlooks the runway so you can see planes land and taxi! Very cool place while waiting for your flight! Price is as expected in airport.
